The FBI and terrorism: a satire

September 21, 2016 • 2:39 pm

This clip was produced by a group of Israelis who did satirical cabaret, making fun of sacred cows. (The language is Hebrew with English subtitles.) The cow in this short video is the FBI’s attitudes toward Islamic terrorism; the Boston FBI locale and Chechen perpetrators make clear that this is about the Boston Marathon bombing. (The video was also made in 2013).

This film, in fact, couldn’t be shown on Israeli television, which by and large is so Regressive Leftist that it wouldn’t countenance this kind of satire. But it’s funny, and certainly has a grain of truth. Malgorzata found it and put the subtitles in Polish, which you can see, if you wish, by pressing the cc button.

  1. Wow. This is clever. I’m afraid to post it on Twitter, as my flock of Regressive Leftist followers will shun me. I’m not usually shy about sharing controversial things, but my gut tells me this one is one that could start viral shaming.

          1. And yet, the characters generalize about the Irish (“Islam” is an Irish name? Check for IRA connections!) without anyone even noticing.

I’m not Irish, and I noticed.

    1. Exactly so. You have to pick your battles. Don’t give in to the temptation to enlighten others who aren’t in a position yet to understand. Maybe in the future.

      1. doesnt stop regressive leftists constantly on non regressive sites like Godless spellchecker etc. or attacking ex muslims. They expect to dominate

  2. Very FBI like.

More recently, the guy they got 48 hours after the NY/NJ bombings is Afghan American and lives in Elizabeth,NJ. His father turned him in to the FBI 2 years ago for stabbing a brother and hitting his sister. The Father even called him a terrorist at the time. FBI investigated and let him go, no problem and no terror list. He also traveled to Afghanistan & Pakistan a few times for extended periods but that did not seem to cause any problem either. Guess he was more recently radicalized.

    1. I don’t think much of the FBI, but in some ways they can’t win. They have to steer a fine line between letting terrorists go free and unjustly victimising non-terrorists (and criminal activity or even violence is not necessarily, or even usually, terrorism or else half the country would be classified as terrorists. This would not only be unjust, but also self-defeating, with that many terrorists around, which ones would you watch?)

Presumably the investigation concluded that the guy’s actions were merely ordinary thuggery.

      1. I don’t see how putting the guy on a watch list and monitoring him a bit is cruel or unusual. They since have discovered a lot that he has been doing in the past year that makes it obvious what he was and what he was doing. Take a little look at the evidence of the past year and it is overwhelming. The term – blew it….comes to mind.

        1. Okay. If they had decided at the time he was suspicious and worth watching, I wouldn’t call that cruel. I think it has to be viewed in the light of how suspicious he appeared *at the time he was originally reported*. It’s easy to discover a lot of stuff about someone after the event, when they know where to look and have just cause to do so.

          Hindsight is marvellously infallible.

          1. Try to remember the FBI did not stumble on to this guy. His father called the FBI and turned him in for stabbing the brother and hitting a sister. The father even called him a terrorist and later took it back. Then all the trips to the homeland. It’s connecting the dots not hindsight.

Just a question but are you familiar with John O’Neil, the x FBI man who died in the Tower on 9/11. Maybe check out his story on Frontline. He knew how to connect the dots back when almost nobody had.

          2. Oddly enough I can just, if I try very hard indeed, remember the guy’s father reported him to the FBI, yes. What else do you suppose I might have meant by “at the time …”? They probably decided that family violence was not a FBI issue.

          3. It’s a shame you are not informed on the facts before making your stand to defend the FBI on this. The stabbing was 2014. This guy worked for a short period in 2011 as a security person at AP Admin offices. They said he would engage colleages in long political discussions and showed sympathy for the Taliban and distain for U.S. military in Afghanistan. The FBI checked him out for two months in 2014 so what did they find….?

          4. I think when its such violence, the allegation from the father plus clear evidence of pro taliban and anti western sympathies outside the family they should have monitored him a lot more than 2 months – then later of course there were all those trips to afghanistan. This is not just picking on a Muslim

      2. What he did was peanuts compared with what goes on across the USA in terms of murders & violent crime. Yet that is not labelled as terrorism so does not get such extensive & expensive police resources as terrorism does, though far more people die or are injured. Imagine if as much concern were taken over traffic fatalities? Understanding of risk in humans is bizarre!
        🙁

  3. They must be setting things up for a sequel since they never said what the motive was. How can they leave us in suspense!

    1. I’ve seen the sequel. The motive is Western insatiable need for oil. That’s what greases the squeaky wheels of terrorism.

  4. Unfortunately all too apt satire. The braindead deathly-afraid-of-anything-that-may-in-anyway-seem-racist subset of leftists cannot get it into their heads that there are actually Muslims who for strictly religious reasons want to violently impose their particularly brand of Islam on the entire planet. Yeah, there are a few who are pissed off at specific U.S. actions but those particular few show their true inhumanity when they show their support for the atrocities committed by ISIS and wanting to join in to murder innocent people. And, yes, there are Christians and Jews and even Hindus who have committed inexcusable atrocities against Muslims, but as the cliche goes, two wrongs never make a right.

  5. I recognize all three of those comic actors from the “LatmaTV” YouTube channel, about 5 years ago. They were great, and the entire show was brilliant! The channel is still up. I especially recommend the Flotilla Choir. Enjoy!
