It’s the morning after the night before. I hope there are not too many food hangovers today.
Here’s an ingenious way to serve your guests.

A glittery owl
Burrowing Owls usually have bright yellow irises, but a small percentage of owls found in Florida have dark brown or spangled yellow and brown irises which could be the result of a recessive gene being expressed. https://t.co/EW8YhJs6tH pic.twitter.com/3DULVFLik2

Our friends from Poland are taking a break from the busy business of eating and sleeping.
Hili: Do you have a moment?
Cyrus: I do.
Hili: Me too.
In Polish:
Hili: Masz chwilę czasu?
Cyrus: Mam.
Hili: Ja też.
Hat-tip: Matthew
The train idea is pretty good. Very logistical if that is a word? With all that drinking, having the service close to the floor could be the way to go.
Possibly difficult with pets, however.
Slightly off topic I see where that Sen. Hatch, that worthless waste of space out there in Utah is finally being turned on by the Newspapers of Utah, telling him he has done all the damage they can stand. All I can say to the people of Utah is – What the hell took you so long.
I had my own brief (and rather pleasant) dealings with the senior senator from Utah while representing a lawyer who’d done a lot of fundraising for him on a federal tax beef. I’ve always disagreed with Hatch on almost everything politically, but felt he had some semblance of principle. Then he had to go and do that disgusting Trump-fluff before god & man on the South Lawn of the White House following passage of the tax-cut-for-the-super-rich bill … and for no damn good reason at all. He’s on my shit-list now to stay.
I think even the very conservative Utah folks simply could not take his give away of a great deal of federal park land out there. Then came the big tax deal. 42 years that guy has been in the Senate so no wonder this country has gone to hell. More and more I feel the founders really blew it with the construction of the U.S. Senate.
Oooo, thank you both, Randall and Mr Kukec,
for pointing out that / my too – Shitlisted
Space – Waster Hatch. That video makes ALL
of m’egalitarian bloods boil.
And whilst upon the crud of men – mormon,
Any taken in / viewed netflix’s seven –
episode series entitled “Godless ?”
Cuz during this down time off, I binged it.
And. And I soooo, so recommend it !
Blue
Thanks Blue. I was hovering over this one as none of my dependable sources of review (friends) have watched it yet. I’m now going to take the plunge.
When he decided to run for the senate a million years ago he converted to Mormonism undoubtedly out of a deep sense of opportunity. As much as I think the Mormons exist in an episode of “The Twilight Zone” it may very well be they have a core of decency that is now turning on his mercenary machinations.
I see The Salt Lake Tribune let ol’ Orin have it square between the eyes today.
That’s sweet.
I sense a second demise for the dinosaurs as soon as cat asteroid realizes they are harmless and can be pushed down the stairs.
That would be a catastrophe.
But purrfect for the rise of mammals.
That pun was dreadfur. I’m appawed.
That burrowing owl with “spangled” irises is too weird for me!
Important Addendum:
Today is the 50th anniversary of the BBC broadcast of the Beatles’ TV movie “Magical Mystery Tour”, widely regarded as the greatest debacle of their career, only a few months after the release of their most famous album “Sgt. Pepper’s” (which converted JAC to unbelief).
Can’t say I cared much for MMT. But the 45 that came outta those sessions, with “Penny Lane” on one side and “Strawberry Fields” on the other, wasn’t half bad.
I saw MMT on TV when it went out, and as a Beatle fan I thought it not up to standard. I liked ‘The Fool On The Hill’, and still do.
Yeah, good tune; I like the bossa nova cover that Sergio Mendes did, too.
Nearly every song on the album is pretty excellent. It was well worth a terrible movie.
Strawberry Fields and Penny Lane were songs recorded for Sergeant Pepper. They were removed from the album because the Beatles needed a single and they had a policy of not putting the singles on the albums.
Train guy: “My partner, I think he’s resigned himself to this kind of thing happening.” Hilarious.
I remember a model railroad magazine in the 1950’s showing a fellows’ train setup that he ran counter height from the kitchen into his den/railroad room, so his wife could send sandwiches, etc to him. He cut holes in the walls so the train could run round robin.
Wishing everyone to have a great New Year.
There is a place close to Chicago that has been around for a while that has delighted children for years serving food on a Choo Choo in Des Plaines Il.

I had a step-uncle in Youngstown, Ohio who had a Lionel Train franchise. Uncle Howard built a house on the edge of a lovely park there in the 1950s. The upper floor consisted on a bedroom and an enormous living room. At one end of the living room was a bar. From the bar, Uncle Howard could send drinks by model train all around the living room by model freight train. How cool is that?
