Contest closes tomorrow

Don’t forget that the “tell us weird stuff about yourself” contest is still on, but closes at 7 a.m. Chicago time tomorrow (Tuesday Nov. 12).

The prize will be the winner’s choice of either an autographed copy of WEIT (including a cat drawn to the winner’s specification), or a Hili mug, autographed on the bottom by Professor Ceiling Cat.

Remember the rules:

In the thread below, please tell us one interesting or unusual thing about yourself AND one bizarre experience you’ve had.

Add your experience not to this post, but in a comment at the link given above. And remember, we’re asking for two items, one about you and one about an experience you’ve had.

Now, go over to Matthew’s post this morning and try to spot the damn nightjar. I’ve failed miserably, and had to be told where it is.

It’s not just you. I scanned that photograph several times. When I finally found it I realized I must have looked right at it at least 3 times before I saw it.

The fossil record of course, but look around, we are all fossils (just temporarily above the earth; and the variable length of time we are “living fossils” – the length of our lives -dependent on our variable genetic heritage); (as our the number(s) of our offspring dependent solely on the same heritage).

And we will (sooner than later) all take our place aside the dinosaurs and ammonites.

Perhaps future evolutionists to dig us up and describe our morphology.
