I’m not sure whether this cartoon implies divine intervention and a form of theistic evolution:
h/t: from Off the Mark, by Mark Parisi, via reader js
How did the sign evolve?
It’s intelligent hinting. Another example:
“We’ll be saying a big hello to all intelligent lifeforms everywhere and to everyone else out there, the secret is to bang the rocks together, guys.” — “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” Douglas Adams
It wuz putt thur by Dog, of course
Could be a while… that fish must first evolve the ability to read English.
No need. Most fish can read as well as many of our fellow citizens. Most fish have spent most of their lives in various schools.
You’re ignoring the possibly that those signs were placed by a benevolent alien intelligence. And the further possibility of the involvement of an alien intelligence that was mucking around and causing trouble.
Must be a sole.
Salmoned by D*g to ambulate.
I simply thought it was funny and had a little laugh. I wouldn’t have thought it implied anything.
Like the cartoon itself, my comment was a joke.
Seems to be inspired a little too much by similar Far Side cartoons.
I totally agree. The original was better: http://bit.ly/N0yAY7
So is this how punctuated equilibrium got started?
It’s a rat trap!
And you’ve been caught.
Clearly they don’t know A. arnoldorum.
Reminiscent of Tim Minchin’s Tony the Fish (hilarious).
