Woman pregnant with baby and cat!

Like God, Ceiling Cat can apparently impregnate women. Greg Mayer has been checking out this now-viral ultrasound scan from imgur: it first appeared last year, and there is no overt evidence that it has been Photoshopped.

Yep, there’s a cat in there. . .

Ultrasound cat

This is the first in a “spot the cat for dummies” series (the second and final installment will be tomorrow).

You mean you didn’t spot the three nightjars?
And Matthew has been so carefully training his cadre of nightjar spotters!

There are TWO cats! One big one on right and a kitten mid photo.
This is more of a miracle than christ on toast!

I had to try this, but was bemused by the lack of nightjars. I eventually spotted the little cat with the laser eyes lying down in the middle. Then my eyes driffted up to the right and I literally LOLed. A hoot! Send in the nightjars!

Scratch that (ha!) there are TWO cats in the middle, one with its head on the left, the other with its head on the right. Praise be to Ceiling Cat!

Saw the kitten first, then went back after reading references to the big one…how’d I miss that the first time?!

I think the little one is Happy Cat. Which means the end of times is truly upon us.

And the big one is doing one of these numbers: o.O

I’m not sure if this is a good sign.

And I’ve only now noticed the letters “PROF” at upper left. I’m shuddering at the implications.

Oh my! I see a well developed cat and then a smaller one to it’s left. I also see chicken feet at the opposite end. However, this is the most alarming, I see “The Scream” by Edvard Munch. Quite obvious. I will have to revisit this as I’m behind on Professor Ceiling Cat’s more academic posts ;-) And there may be more nightjars to be found. Can you find “The Scream”…

      I meant the ‘other left’!

Hmmm, striped ears. Obviously a zebracat. My guess is he’s there to eat the trussed up turkey on the left.

If it’s true, then it’s a case of interspecific pregnancy (a female being pregnant from an individual of another species).

If anybody here has any real experience with these types of images, I’d love to get an expert’s explanation of what we’re actually looking at.

(And, yes, I loved the joke — just curious about what’s behind the curtain, is all.)

The only experience I’ve had of looking at these things was as a parent, but I was blowed if I could ever see a foetus/baby in the images. I’ve had more success recently in seeing the joints in my fingers for a medical problem though!

Fetal ultrasounds are much clearer as vids. As you would expect.

And BTW, someone else must have spotted that image of Jesus by now at the bottom. Disturbingly he appears to have masses of white hair erupting from his nose!

mmm, I suck at nightjar spotting.

Here, a cat-gestational period of about 9 weeks would probably allow time for the kitten #1’s eyes to open, as it clearly shows.

But why is the other kitten not as developed? Or is that one really an owl?
