Four bears fishing

If you happen to be awake, or are in Australia, have a look at the BearCam at Brooks Falls. Four Alaskan brown bears are in the rapids hunting salmon.  And they’re spaced quite evenly.

It’s amazing we can watch this from the comfort of our homes.

Also from Australia – and it is superb to see wildlife from one’s armchair. Thank you.

New Zealand here. I thought it was a recording, till a 5th bear joined them. Spending all that time in the icy water must burn up the calories. How often do they catch one?

(I’ve been reading too many gay blogs – thought it said “Four bears fisting”)

This is great. We saw six bears. Looks like they are enjoying the water as well as fishing.

Wow..I am in awe..it did look like they were enjoying the water as well as the fishing..I think they missed a couple too. What an analogue on life really, it’s so beautiful but your chances of getting eaten are always there.

This is far better than the Olympics! The most I\’ve seen so far is six. I love watching the dynamics between the bears – it\’s pretty easy to guess which are the young ones.

Earlier tonight I watched a bear wander in and bully out another bear from the good spot, catch a fish within five minutes and wander back out.

    Such fun!

I counted four, until quite by accident I happened to pick a big beast of a bear out against the far bank. I’m suddenly very glad not to be there in person.

I’ve only seen two so far, but this is amazing! And I liked how two bears exchanged places in the stream – taking turns in fishing (I am currently reading Frans De Waal’s Ape and the Sushi Master, a little anthropomorphism isn’t bad ;)
